E-Notary Public (online)
Summary
This course will instruct existing North Carolina notaries public in the newly legislated procedure required to exercise electronic notarial acts as set forth by North Carolina's Secretary of State. Participants must hold a valid commission as a North Carolina notary public to qualify for this certification. The course will cover the N.C. E-Notary Act, eligibility and registration, E-Notary processes, technology solutions and providers, ethics reg, E-notarizations, consequences of misconduct, security standards, best practices and departmental recommendations. Note: Tuition includes materials delivered in class.
NOTES TO STUDENTS: Participants must hold a valid commission as a NC Notary Public to qualify for this certification.

Students may take the courses without the 2026 North Carolina
Notary Public Manual (if they have already purchased the 2016 edition)
Students must purchase the 2026 Notary Manual prior to
submitting their notary or eNotary application to the Department ( You have 3
months from the date of the exam to submit the application)
Students must send a copy of their signed receipt for the 2026
Notary Public Manual along with their application (receipt must be signed by
the student)
