Summary
This 3 hour introduction course will serve as a primer to living shorelines. Students will learn about existing natural shoreline stabilization techniques currently used throughout Coastal North Carolina. This course will provide an overview for different types of living shoreline projects using case studies and current research. The course will familiarize students with effective stabilization options and considerations, as well as an overview permitting process required to install living shorelines in North Carolina coastal waters.
